This feeling is probably well known to everyone who has ever laced up their football boots when they were young. Under-10 game, Wednesday evening, the smell of the damp grass, sometimes even floodlights, and then you actually won big for the first time. 7-0. 8-0. 9:0. Maybe even 10:0. Children's eyes light up. There is shouting in the dressing room like the “big ones”. And the topic of conversation for the way to school the next morning has already been found.

Well, escalating results are not uncommon in youth football. On the contrary. It feels like almost every third game offers space for at least half a dozen goals. In the combat team world, this is the exception rather than the rule. And of course it's striking when you see a 9-0 win somewhere in the newspaper on Monday.

Hard to believe Yes, quite a few people must have looked as quizzical as a lazy student in the middle of a history exam when they found out the final result of the game between Riffian Kuens and Aldein Petersberg. 9:0. For Riffian. Are you sure it was the 1st amateur league?

The debacle began for Aldein in the first seconds of the game: first offensive action by the Riffians, shot, blocked, follow-up shot, goal - and that after just two minutes. At some point after the 2-0 win, Regglberger had a strong phase and even came dangerously close. But their own individual mistakes, coupled with the extreme callousness of the lightning-fast Riffian strikers, ensured that shortly after half-time it was 4-0 for the home team. When the Aldein footballers received a red card, they finally surrendered to their fate - and were not spared by Riffian.

Another special point about the game is that Aldein was in fourth place before the game, while Riffian was positioned six positions behind. crazy, is not it? But as already mentioned at the beginning: Football is and remains a thing of unpredictability. And that's ultimately what makes it so special.
