1:4 debacle: The crisis at FC Südtirol is getting worse

FC Südtirol had to do without Martin and Marras, who were weakened by fever, for a short time in the landmark away match. They were replaced by Ientile and Campo, otherwise the introduction of Furlan in central midfield was the only squad change compared to the disappointing home game against Albinoleffe.

Nevertheless, this game also began with absolutely bad news: after just two minutes, Feralpi player Fabris made it 1-0. However, the FCS were initially unimpressed and missed the equalizer thanks to a long-range shot from Bertoni. In the 24th minute, however, the visitors' defense was once again the focus when Furlan was just able to clear a Leonardi header off the line. After half an hour, Rastelli took Bertoni off the field for Petermann. Nine minutes later, Campo tried a dangerous long-range shot, but in return the FCS penalty area was ablaze again. This time it was Zerbo who wasted a great chance for the hosts.

At the beginning of the second half, Rastelli replaced the disappointing Lendric for Chinellato, but the Lombards continued to dominate the game. Bracaletti alone had the opportunity to increase the score to 2-0 three times in this phase of the game. Only after Cia came onto the field for Campo at FCS did the white and reds seem to show a reaction.

Fischler's hit provides hope in the meantime

With the first clear goal chance of the entire game, the guests promptly scored the equalizer. FCS top scorer Filehner gave the opposing goalkeeper no chance with a precise shot into the net. The joy was short-lived, however, because just four minutes after the 1-1 score, Fabris Kiem looked old on the sideline, moved into the penalty area and finished to give the home team the lead again. As a result, these played into a real frenzy. After a failed shot by goalkeeper Melgrati, Bracaletti increased it to 3-1 before Romero was able to push in unhindered to make the final score 4-1. At this point, FC Südtirol had already been mentally in the dressing room for a long time.

On the twelfth matchday, FC Südtirol suffered the bitterest defeat of the season so far. The White-Reds lost 1-4 away against Feralbisalò. A result that could not only cost coach Claudio Rastelli dearly, but would also cause some discussion among the FCS management team.
