2nd Amateur League: Partschins achieves double

There were few opportunities to score in the first half. Both teams showed their best shortly before the half-time whistle. In the 43rd minute, Pescolderung broke through on the half-right position on the Palatinate side and crossed sharply in front of the goal, but Pirini came a step too late and the ball sailed through the penalty area. Just a moment later it was Partschins' turn, but Huber's touchdown was able to be directed into the corner by Zimmerhofer in the Palatinate goal.

After the break, just four minutes had been played when Alex Pezzei, after a cross from the right side and a header extension in the penalty area, hit the ball with his head and scored the opening goal for Partschins. Almost ten minutes later, Martin Oberperfler set off alone towards the Pfalzner goal, but he allowed himself to be caught and carelessly misused the ball. As a result, Huber - with two scoring opportunities - and Schnitzer also had the chance to make it 2-0, but missed miserably.

In the following minutes, Pfalzen became stronger and was immediately rewarded for this in the 70th minute. Because whoever doesn't score the goals usually gets them. After a free kick from the right side and a rebound, Paul Gutwenger was quickest and slammed the ball into the far corner while standing in the penalty area. Goalkeeper Thuile had no chance to defend.

In the 82nd minute, Partschins struck back again. Schnitzer started a counterattack and played just outside the penalty area for 37-year-old Martin Oberperfler, who pushed the ball past goalkeeper Zimmerhofer for the decisive 2-1 winning goal. From this point on, Pfalzen threw everything forward. Andreas Althuber initially had no luck with a bomb free kick from around 30 meters, the ball went just over the crossbar and substitute Mutschlechner also failed with a shot in the penalty area past Thuile after Pirini cleared him.

With Partschins' victory, only Kiens, Riffian Kuens and Albeins, who are second in the table, remain in the fight for promotion.
