25th Paulsner Small Field Tournament: Defending champions already out

Three preliminary round groups were held, and three former winners were in action: Bar Kleiner Montiggler See (2003), Golden Gunners Terlan (2012) and FC Luislkeller (2014). FC Luislkeller also caused the first sensation, as the Val Gardena team missed qualifying for the “big” final on Sunday. They have to console themselves with the participation in the final round of the third and fourth placed preliminary teams.

Group a:

Here the Gauchos from Kaltern prevailed confidently: won all three games, conceded no goals - Marco Anderlan, Hannes Ambach & Co. didn't show any weakness. Thanks to two goals in 60 seconds, the Young Stars Terlan overtook last year's finalists FC Rebello (including Willy Amofah and Davide Santachiara) and qualified for the "big" final tournament on Sunday in second place.

Group B:

The Kleiner Montiggler See bar made a confident impression. Irwin Sadei, Thomas and Alex Piffrader, Matys Goller, Arndt Folie and the twins Dennis and Aaron Malleier left nothing to be desired and confidently prevailed over the Golden Gunners Terlan, the Sausalitos St. Pauls and the FC Schischuach from Bozen.

Group C:

The games in Group C were hard-fought. In the end, the larger class of Real Nivea Sunblocker 50+ (including Armin Rungg, Christian Rainer, Christian Platzer, Lukas Höller, Andreas Pircher) prevailed, the noble hens St. Pauls (including Daniel Delueg, Konny Prugger, Felix Andergassen, Andreas Clementi, Thomas Zanon, Thomas Debelyak) took second place ahead of FC Luislkeller. However, the Val Gardena team had to make do without their top players Stefan Senoner and Jan-Martin Vinatzer.

Today, Friday, we continue in the evening with three more preliminary groups. Group C includes Bananas Girlan, Die blau Fußballzwerge and Hotel Weinberg. In Group D, Alemannia Anspach, Patulien Steinegg and Restaurant Julia meet, among others, and in Group E, Eintracht Prügel and Hellas Corona meet. The game starts at 19 p.m.

With wonderful summer weather and packed spectator stands, the first qualifying day of the 25th edition of the small-field tournament in St. Pauls took place on Thursday evening at the “Morktplotz”.
