3-2 win: FC Südtirol advance to a round in the Italian Cup

Against Teramo, Coach Rastelli had to do without a number of regular players, namely Furlan, Pacifico, Mladen, Bertinetti and Ientile. The injured Alessandro Campo was initially on the substitutes' bench. In the first half, the home team dominated the game. The hosts showed a good build-up game and had their first attack through Cia in the seventh minute. However, he had to miss this opportunity, as well as a long-range shot five minutes later that hit his team-mate Filehner in the back.

In the 16th minute it was the striker from Signat who headed the ball towards the goal outside the penalty area. However, this was intercepted by Perotta. In the 27th minute, Fiwickeler demonstrated his speed again. He broke into the penalty area but lost the ball again to Perrotta.

The white-reds put more pressure on the opponent's goal and so it was only a matter of time before the spectators saw the first goal. In the 32nd minute the time had finally come: Marras secured the ball on the right wing and surprisingly played it back to Fink, who safely hit the top corner from outside the penalty area and gave the White-Reds a 1-0 lead. At this point the players went into the dressing rooms.

Teramo manages to equalize

Even after the restart, little had changed on the field. The dangers continued to come from FC Südtirol, who had reduced the pressure but continued to surprise with quick advances. In the 53rd minute, Cia hit a free kick into the penalty area, hitting the defenders. Branca tried to use the rebound, but his shot went over the crossbar.

However, after Teramo coach Vivarini made two changes and changed the strategy in the 59th minute, the game became livelier again. In the 66th minute, the guests even surprisingly managed to equalize. From the edge of the penalty area, Lapadula sank a low shot into the FCS box and brought his team back into the game.

Filehner shoots the FCS to victory The White Reds needed some time to digest the equalizer, but then they threw everything forward again. Manuel Fischnitzer in particular was at his best again around five minutes before the end and scored a brace to make it 3-1. In stoppage time, Lapadula managed to score the next goal with a penalty after a foul, but he was no longer able to prevent Teramo from defeat.

Catania awaits in the second round

With the 3-2 win over Teramo, FC Südtirol qualified for the second round of the Italian Cup. Next weekend in Sicily, the White-Reds will face Serie B club Catania, who will be coached by former FC Südtirol coach Maurizio Pellegrino.

3-2 win: FC Südtirol advance to a round in the Italian Cup

The Italian Cup match between FC Südtirol and Teramo kicked off early on Sunday evening in the Drusus Stadium in Bolzano, which the White-Reds won 3-2 thanks to goals from Hannes Fink and double goalscorer Manuel Fiwickeler. The white-reds will face Catania in the second round next Sunday.
