Rejection of Naples: National player Younes stays at Ajax

Amsterdam (SID) National soccer player Amin Younes has canceled his move to Italy to Serie A leaders SSC Napoli for personal reasons. The 24-year-old offensive player will instead fulfill his contract with Ajax Amsterdam, which expires at the end of the season. As the Dutch record champions announced, the former Mönchengladbacher will train again with the Ajax first team on Friday. "Amin decided for himself to stay at Ajax. He didn't have to leave from us. We can use him well and are happy about his decision. We are aiming to fill all positions twice," said former Dutch international Marc Overmars, who is director of player affairs at Ajax. Overmars continued to say that mutual trust had been restored. The club further admitted in the statement that Younes had been allowed to travel to Italy last week. Last Sunday, the Confederations Cup winner watched Naples' 3-1 win against FC Bologna in the stands of the Stadio San Paolo. According to Italian media, Younes has already completed the medical check with the Serie A leaders. Napoli is said to have offered Younes a contract for five and a half years and Ajax a transfer fee of five million euros.
