All football game calendars at a glance - PDF

At the beginning of the calendar presentation, President Karl Rungger looked back at the 2015/16 season and was delighted that seven teams from South Tyrol were ranked in the first seven positions in last year's Oberliga. “And there were no South Tyrolean relegated players in the top league. That was a historic result, a result that we may never achieve again. Compliments to all the clubs,” said the South Tyrolean number one in amateur football.

In his remarks, Rungger mentioned some key data about the 2016/17 championship. A total of 382 teams take part in the various championships, 184 from the amateur sector and 198 from the youth sector. This means that there are 17 fewer teams at the start than in the 2015/16 sports year. “This decline is mainly due to fewer registered women’s teams and a small decline in the C-youth,” explained Karl Rungger.

Because there have been some changes in the area of football rules, there will be a meeting with all clubs on August 29th, during which the clubs will be informed about the new regulations by the referees.

The association is not opposed to the introduction of a playoff

Rungger emphasized that the youth center in Neumarkt is in no way in competition with similar projects run by FC Südtirol. "It's supposed to be an addition." South Tyrol's football boss was not averse to the introduction of a playoff or a playout. “We would have to discuss this with the clubs first,” said Rungger.

The focus of the event was once again the presentation of the calendars.
