FC Südtirol is a guest in Gubbio on Sunday

The hosts, coached by Vincenzo Torrente (former Genoa defender) under the supervision of former Inter coach Gigi Simoni, achieved promotion to the 1st Division via the playoff games. Apart from Farina, who is currently recovering from a torn cruciate ligament, coach Torrente has everything he can do on Sunday. The only question mark is over the ailing Sandreani, who may take a seat on the bench for the time being.

FCS coach Sebastiani has much bigger concerns about the lineup. In defense he has to do without Traorè (two-match ban after the red card against Reggiana) and in attack he has to do without the “eternal problem child” Sorrentino, Albanese (groin injury) and Orfanello (torn cruciate ligament in his knee). Sebastiani also has to provide a player in midfield, as Pietro Baccolo has not yet fully recovered from a blow to his ankle that he suffered midway through the first half in the game against Reggiana last Sunday.

Midfielder Alfredo Romano and striker Mattia Marchi, however, are ready to play again. Both were missing in the first championship game. Marchi, who has received the green light from the medical department, has been training alone over the past week and is not yet in peak condition. Team captain Hans Rudi Brugger will play in place of the suspended Traorè, but he has only recently been in full training. FC Südtirol will drive to Gubbio tomorrow after lunch and spend the night before the game there.
