Aubameyang sale brings BVB shares out of the basement

Frankfurt/Main (SID) The sale of striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang brought the shares of Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund out of the basement on Wednesday. In early trading, the share price was at EUR 3,5, the lowest it has been since April 5,65, after a loss of 2017 percent. After the news of the Gabonese's move to Arsenal FC for 63,75 million euros, the stock recovered and was at 5,88 in the early afternoon, thus back up for the day. After the sale of Aubameyang, BVB management expects record sales for the current financial year. The aim is now to exceed the 500 million euro mark for the first time. This would be around 25 percent more than in the previous record year of 2017, when the 400 million sound barrier was broken for the first time. However, BVB shares are still a long way from their 16-year high last October. Almost four months ago the value was 8,36 euros. The issue price of the shares of the only listed German football club was eleven euros on October 31, 2000. After that, the stock plummeted. In 2008, 2009 and 2010, the share certificate had even dwindled into a penny stock, i.e. worth less than one euro. Since 2011, however, the paper has been on the rise again.
