Bundesliga: Wolfsburg narrowly misses a point against Bayern - HSV loses

Cologne (SID) VfL Wolfsburg narrowly missed out on a respectable success on the 23rd matchday of the Bundesliga: The crisis-plagued Wolves lost 1:2 (1:0) to league leaders and record champions Bayern Munich. Daniel Didavi (8th) put Lower Saxony in the lead. Wolfsburg goalkeeper Koen Casteels saved a penalty from Arjen Robben (55th) in the second half. In the fourth minute of added time, Cologne's supposed 2-1 was rightly withdrawn by Claudio Pizarro according to video evidence. FC missed another chance to get closer to the competition with a three-pointer. SC Freiburg, on the other hand, is still on course towards staying in the league after winning 1-0 (1-0) in the basement duel against Werder Bremen. Nils Petersen (24th, penalty) scored Breisgauer's winning goal. Freiburg's Janik Haberer (88th) put a penalty kick next to the goal. FSV Mainz 05 had already stopped their downward slide on Friday evening with a 2-0 (1-0) win at Hertha BSC. This also eased the situation a little for FSV coach Sandro Schwarz. "When we win, we celebrate together. When we lose, we are angry together," said Mainz match winner Robin Quaison, who scored his team's first success away from home in 40 games with a brace (65th/17th).
