Confederations Cup: Everything still remains open in the Germany group

Cameroon and Australia kept their chance of a possible semi-final with a 1-1 draw on Thursday afternoon. In St. Petersburg, Australia showed a stronger fighting spirit, while Cameroon improved technically and individually. Shortly before the break, the African champions took the lead with André-Frank Zambo. Captain Mark Milligan scored the equalizer for Australia from a penalty in the 60th.

The top game in Group B between Germany and Chile also ended 1-1. In the sixth minute, the German team fell behind in the Kazan Arena. Arsenal striker Alexis Sanchez picked up the ball after a bad pass from Mustafi and coolly slotted it into the net. In the 6st minute, Gladbach's Lars Stindl equalized. On Sunday, Germany and Chile (both 41 points) will meet Cameroon and Australia (both 4 point).

The teams from Group A will play their last group game on Saturday. The host country Russia could overtake Mexico with a win and thus become a semi-finalist. Cristiano Ronaldo & Co. meet bottom team New Zealand. The “All Whites” remain without points after their second defeat against Mexico (1:2) and can therefore no longer count on promotion to the next round.
