Setback for FC Südtirol: 0-1 defeat against Gubbio

After the great 2-0 win at the start, the FCS has to overcome the first setback. Gubbio wasn't the better team throughout the game, but took advantage of one of the few opportunities to make it 1-0.

Brilliant start On Saturday, coach Viali trusted the exact same team that clinched the first three points of the season at the Drusus Stadium a week ago. The defensive department in particular was challenged at the start of the game against Gubbio. After just two minutes, Marcone fended off a shot from Ferretti from close range with a great reflex for a corner, but in return Tulli failed with a shot past Volpe. After that, that was it for the really big opportunities in the first round. The two teams then played a very even game without causing any serious danger.

Winning goal from Candellone After the break, Gubbio appeared more concrete in his offensive efforts and scored the opening goal in the 74th minute when Ferretti overcame the FCS defense with a great pass and Candellone showed no nerves in front of Marcone. FC Südtirol then pushed hard for an equalizer and had a great chance to do so in the 90th minute, but Gliozzi's header after Tait's beautiful cross went wide. Nothing happened after that - and FC Südtirol's first defeat of the new season was sealed.
