“My first half of the season is extremely positive. I had a good feeling from the first game and we scored points straight away, even though we had a very difficult program at the beginning. We were also lucky that – apart from Florian Niederkofler – we were spared any serious injuries. And I have a very broad squad of quality at my disposal, with which I can equally compensate for failures, for example through suspensions. That’s certainly one of the reasons why things are going so well for us this year,” explained Jürgen Großgasteiger.

The transition from assistant to head coach was not difficult for him at all. “Of course I have greater responsibility now. But I've always followed a very comradely line and we treat each other very respectfully. The fact that I am friendly and have played with a lot of players hasn't caused me any problems. I have enough assertiveness. Our primary goal remains to stay in the league, but I think that after this first half of the season it is not presumptuous to say that we want to achieve a single-digit place in the table - even if the entire league is very close together," Großgasteiger continued.

Bozner FC (Coach: Flavio Toccoli)

After a difficult start to the season, the Orange-Blacks were able to recover, especially last Monday, and even celebrated an important away win against Levico at the end. Now coach Flavio Toccoli is enjoying the winter holidays. “The boys, but also myself, need a break,” said the trainer. Bozner FC is at the bottom of the league and is seven points away from safety. The first season in the top regional league started anything but well for the club from the state capital. In the first half, the promoted team celebrated two wins, drew three times and suffered a total of ten defeats. "It was difficult. In the top league the game is played at a different level, our biggest problem is the lack of attitude. In some games we weren't present at all. In others, where we were level with our opponents, little things made the difference. In a championship like the Oberliga you pay for every mistake, no matter how small, but we still have a second half of the season waiting for us. We will give everything to stay in the league. “But it won’t be easy,” explains Toccoli. During the winter break, the people of Bolzano will also look around the transfer market: “We will probably strengthen in midfield, but we also hope to find a defender who suits our team. What grade should I give my team after the first half of the season? I read your reports and have to give my boys two different ratings. I rate our table situation a 4, but my boys deserve a 7 for their commitment and solidarity. It wasn't easy for us and they deserve a lot of praise."
