The wait for the 2014/15 national league season is over

In the early match, Moos and Naturns are fighting for the first points of the season. Apart from the goal of at least temporarily reaching the top of the national league, both clubs have little in common.

SSV Naturns is playing in the regional league for the first time in four years and has completely revamped the squad after being relegated from the Oberliga. This measure has already borne fruit, at least in the cup: with two confident victories against Schenna and SC Passeier, the boys from Engl Grünfelder showed their potential. “We are on a very good path. The club's target (top half of the table, editor's note) is very realistic," former Schlanders defender Martin Metz is quoted as saying on the club's homepage. He moved to Naturns in the summer, as did exceptional striker Peter Mair. The greatest hopes rest on him and neo-captain Matthias Bacher on Saturday.

If FC Moos manages to keep the extremely dangerous attacking duo in check, there could be a big bang in the first game of the season. The “Psairer” have been dying for the duel with the relegated team from the Oberliga for weeks, although their anticipation has been dampened recently. Because while Naturns really boosted their self-confidence in the cup, Valentin Brugger and his teammates suffered two bitter defeats against St. Pauls and Lana. But on Saturday in the first league home game, the AFC team, which this year consists exclusively of players from the Passeier Valley, will show a completely different face.

Bolzano derby at the start

The first match day continues on Sunday. The focus is particularly on the city derby between FC Bozen 96 and Bozner Boden. While the Murano club has its sights set on the top third of the table, there is still uncertainty at its rivals after a complete squad shake-up. The first away games of the two supposed top teams Obermais (on the Sciliar) and Plose (in Stegen) also provide excitement. The two newcomers Latzfons and Partschins are now facing Natz and Weinstraße respectively. State league returnee Lana has Neugries as a guest.
