Bozner FC remains in the top league

The “little miracle” like in the second leg against CasateseRogoredo could not be repeated on Sunday against Budoni in Sardinia. Coach Flavio Toccoli had to do without the ill Bernardo Ceravolo, the injured Matteo Tulipano and the suspended Mattia Pareti.

After the first quarter of an hour things didn't look good for Bozner FC, because with Simone Saiu in the eighth minute and LucianoSartor in the 14th minute, the home team already had one foot in Serie D. But Bozner FC came with a strong counter-reaction back into the game and in the 31st Fabio Bertoldi scored with his head to make it 1:2. In the following half hour the game remained very balanced until Bocchio put a Bertoldi pass into the net for the equalizer in the 68th minute. The Toccoli team was close to making up for the 2-3 deficit from the first leg. When there were still 5 minutes left until the end of the game, the referee whistled for a handball in the Budoni penalty area and there was a penalty for the Talferstadt team. Bertoldi converted this in the follow-up shot. With Bozner FC winning 3-2 after 90 minutes, the game went into extra time.

In the 93rd minute, Luciano Sartor scored with a precise free kick to make it 3-3. In the remaining minutes of extra time, Bozner FC came forward several times and also had a few chances to score their fourth goal. In the end it remained 3:3 and Bozner FC will compete in the top league again next season.

"It was still a great performance from our team. The reaction after the 2-0 deficit was just great," said the sports director of Bozner FC, Andreas Canal, after the game.
