FC Südtirol as an appetizer on Epiphany

Initially, however, the White-Reds' focus is solely on the match against Arezzo. In the last game of the first half of the season, the most important thing is to forget the hair-raising performance in the pre-Christmas 0-1 defeat against Giana Erminio. This was the first defeat for Adolfo Sormani in his sixth game as FCS coach. He had his protégés come to the Rungghof for training on December 27th in order to be optimally prepared for the next championship game.

This is a tough one, because US Arezzo is a very unpleasant opponent coming to the Drusus Stadium. The Tuscans were only promoted to the Lega Pro after the start of the championship to take the vacant place of Vicenza. However, the former Serie B club didn't need any time to get used to it and managed to surprise several times during the first half of the season. Most recently, former first division goalkeeper Massimiliano Benassi and his teammates said goodbye to the short winter break with two point wins against Monza and Novara.

In the table, eleventh-placed Arezzo has two points less than FC Südtirol. The White-Reds urgently need to score points in front of their home crowd on Tuesday in order to maintain contact with the top third of the table. FCS coach Sormani has to make do against Arezzo without the suspended Michael Cia, as well as the injured Ivan Lendric and Gabriel Brugger. Striker Soma Novothny is the first winter signing available.
