FC Südtirol celebrates its first away win

The FCS became dangerous for the first time in the third minute. Branca crossed the ball into the middle, where Maritato missed the ball by just a touch. In the 14th minute, Martin tried a long-range shot, but it rolled just past the home team's goal.

On the other side, a dangerous cross from Bianchetti, but Picone couldn't control the ball just a few meters in front of Marcone's goal (16'). Only 120 seconds later the white and reds were back again: Furlan won the ball, sent Thiam on his way, but Campironi was on the post. In the 24th minute, Fink was able to intercept an escape from the home team, but the ball only went into the side netting.

The visitors' lead was in the air, and indeed: four minutes after Fink's chance, Iacoponi put the FCS in the lead. It was the third goal in a row for the defender, who until a week ago was criticized from all sides. After a corner from Furlan, the seventh for the white-reds after just 28 minutes, Iacoponi rose highest and nodded in skillfully.

In return, the guests had a great chance, but Marcone intercepted the beautiful pass to Picone in time (29th). Only 120 seconds after this opportunity, the clumsy Uliano committed a very stupid foul in the FCS penalty area, the referee awarded a penalty. The due Nazzareno Tarantino safely converted the penalty. It was the first chance for the home team. This restored the stalemate between FC Südtirol and Treviso.

Shortly afterwards, Maritato and Furlan had a double chance, but Treviso's keeper was on the post both times (34'). Six minutes before the half-time whistle, Uliano brought the ball into the middle of the penalty area, where Cernuto directed it towards his own goal, but Campironi was on the post. FC Südtirol was the better team even after the equalizer, but the score remained a draw until the break.

A double blow brings the decision

After the restart, less than three minutes had been played when Maritato gave FC Südtirol a well-deserved lead. After a pass from Furlan, the white-red number “9” stayed cool in front of the keeper and casually pushed in. A little later, Furlan increased the score to 3-1 (52') with a shot from close range that was unfortunately deflected by a Treviso defender. The first away win of the current season was within reach.

Now Maurizi tried to wake up his team with three changes, but the FCS remained in control and was the team that dominated the game. For example, Uliano tried a long shot that went well over the goal (61').

To make matters worse, the home team, who were being insulted by their own audience, sent Coach Maurizi into the stands in the 68th minute for wildly protesting. Just under a quarter of an hour before the end, Campo came on for Maritato, in the 83rd minute Bontà came on for the conspicuous Fink and one minute before the end Bertoni came on for Furlan. Not much happened after that, the FCS sent home their first “threesome” away from home.

FC Südtirol celebrates its first away win

Breathe a sigh of relief for the white and reds! On the eighth matchday in the 1st Division, Lega Pro, the FCS celebrated an away win for the first time in the current season. A weak Treviso swept the Vecchi team off the pitch 3-1.
