FC Südtirol gets the next 1-0 win

Coach Rastelli was able to rely on the recently suspended Martin again in the home game against Monza on Saturday, and the injured Tagliani returned to the team, as did Montanan Michael Cia. He was one of four South Tyroleans in the starting line-up, along with Hannes Kiem, Fabian Tait and Manuel Fiwickeler. Hannes Fink and Gabriel Brugger had to sit on the substitutes' bench.

In the early stages, Monza was the more active team and took the reins. However, the club from Lombardy was unable to create any clear chances to score. The FCS withdrew far and tried to act from a stable defense. It wasn't until the 17th minute that the White-Reds became dangerous after a quick attack, but Fischnelller was able to make a decisive impact when he received the ball.

This “excitement” was followed by yawning boredom in the Drusus Stadium. As a result, Monza had a lot of possession again, but could not find any gaps in FC Südtirol's tight defensive formation. In the 28th minute, Branca found a gap in the opponent's defense and played to Manuel Fiwickeler, whose left-footed shot went past the far corner and ended up going out of the goal.

Ten minutes later the visitors found a good opportunity when Massoni was free to head the ball from a corner but put the ball next to Melgrati's box. A little later, this dismal first half in the Drusus Stadium came to an end.

Marras scores the gold goal After the break, the FCS tried hard in the early stages, but were unable to create any clear scoring chances. Little by little the match flattened out again and continued as bleakly as the first 45 minutes. Until the 59th minute, when Manuel Marras redeemed the White-Red supporters in the Drusus Stadium in Bolzano. With a beautiful left-footed shot right into the corner, FCS Monza keeper Viotti's number “7” lost out.

In the 68th minute, Viotti was on hand to give Fiwickeler a chance, while Kiem on the other side prevented anything worse from happening after an Anastasi shot and deflected it decisively.

In the final phase, Monza pressed for the equalizer. But the guests' attempts were too timid to put Melgrati and his front men around Hannes Kiem, the rock in the surf, in trouble. It remained a narrow 1-0 victory for the White-Reds, who took the maximum of six points in the “English Week”.

FC Südtirol gets the next 1-0 win

Three days after the narrow 1-0 success at Unione Venezia, coach Claudio Rastelli's “minimalist squad” struck again and defeated Monza in their home Drusus Stadium with the same result. Marras scored the only goal of an afternoon with few highlights after around an hour. But the goal was tough.
