FC Südtirol gets a point against Siracusa

FCS coach Giovanni Stroppa had to do without the three injured Franchini, Chinellato and Calliari and instead introduced two innovations in attack compared to the Lanciano game: Andrea Schenetti and Franco Chiavarini were in the starting line-up.

In the first half, FC Südtirol was slightly superior, but was never able to really pose a threat in front of the opponent's goal. Only controversial penalty situations caused excitement. However, the whistle remained silent during both Schenetti's actions. Immediately before the half-time whistle, Furlan forced the Siracusa goalkeeper into a brilliant save with his first real shot on goal.

After the restart, FC Südtirol goalkeeper Alessandro Iacobucci distinguished himself with a shot from Zizzari. In return, Chiavarini's chance to score was just blocked. However, this was just a flash in the pan, as the Sicilians subsequently became stronger and stronger. Iacobucci punched a shot from Strigari straight to Pepe, whose header narrowly missed the goal. Only a short time later, Buongiovanni forgave alone in front of Iacobucci. In stoppage time, the referee was once again the focus when substitute Giannetti fell to the ground in the penalty area and the FCS players then besieged him with protests. However, nothing changed in the final result and both teams left the field with one point each in their pockets.
