FC Südtirol gets a point in Trieste

Coach Paolo Zanetti's team, who only had to call on the injured Broh, came into the 30.000-seat Nereo Rocco Stadium as underdogs, as promoted team Triestina has clearly declared the top third of the table as their goal for the season. Nevertheless, the White-Reds managed to return home with a point. The game ended 1-1.

Costantino becomes a Triestina terror

FCS goalie Offredi had to defuse the first really top-class chance when Porcari shot on the edge of the penalty area after 25 minutes. Five turns of the hand later, FC Südtirol took the lead: Rocco Costantino, who had already scored in the 1-0 cup win against Triestina in August, headed the ball into the net after a Berardocco corner. A short time later, Offredi had to surpass himself again when Bariti shot.

After the break, Gyasi had a great chance to make it 2-0, but he was denied by the opposing goalkeeper after a pass from Cia. Triestina then took the reins - and consequently equalized in the 68th minute. Defender Vinetot had brought Acquaro down in the penalty area, and Andrea Bracaletti converted the penalty dryly. In the final phase, both teams neutralized each other in midfield and in the end the points remained divided.

Both Triestina and FC Südtirol find themselves still in the middle of the table after this draw. Both clubs have five points after four games this season.
