FC Südtirol has to swallow the next bitter pill

FCS coach Adolfo Sormani had to make do in Bergamo without the injured Furlan, Fink and Branca, but Tagliani replaced Kiem in the starting line-up. The visiting team pushed the Lombards deep into their own half from the start, but initially didn't create any chances to score. That was to change from the 20th minute onwards: First, Mazzitelli hit the ball just over the goal, then a failed cross from Marras caused danger.

White-red dominance

The FC Südtirol offensive player had the opening goal in the 36th minute when he benefited from a defensive mistake and stormed alone towards Albinoleffe goalie Offredi. However, he was able to defend himself. Immediately afterwards, Firiegeller missed a direct acceptance, completely free-standing. The goalscorer forced Offredi into another brilliant save shortly before half-time.

Immediately after the restart, Offredi also had to clear against Novothny and Cia before he was powerless for the first time in the 63rd minute. After preparatory work by Cia, Fischnelller was there and gave the guests the lead with his twelfth goal of the season. It was his first sense of success since his goal in the home win against Arezzo.

Two fatal misfires

The FCS continued to hold the scepter in their hands and immediately got the next goal opportunity through Mazzitelli. But in the 72nd minute, the white-reds were caught off guard for the first time: FCS goalie Miori sailed past the ball and Momentè scored to make it 1-1. But that wasn't enough, because just four minutes later Momentè took advantage of the next mistake in the FCS defense. The striker from Albinoleffe hit the near corner and deprived FC Südtirol of their deserved reward. In the final phase the home team secured a 2-1 win.

FC Südtirol has to swallow the next bitter pill

The FCS failed to win a full point against Albinoleffe for the seventh time in a row on Saturday. Fischnitzer and Co. were once again in the lead before giving up the victory within four minutes and ending up empty-handed again.
