FC Südtirol is opening a new chapter

Everything indicates that Aladino Volati will take on the key role. His current employer, third division club Cosenza, is still in action in the playoffs. “We will wait for the outcome of the championship and only then will a contract be signed,” said Baumgartner. Alberto Colombo seems to be the first choice for the coaching position. Outgoing sports director Luca Piazzi brought him to Bolzano during the second half of the season. It was the last decisive official act of the Fiemme Valley resident. His personality was only a side issue at the press conference. “Both sides parted ways amicably. We know Luca’s professional expertise and are very grateful to him for his work over the past eight years, but now it’s time to start a new chapter,” said Baumgartner.

Toccoli moves to FC Südtirol

While the management team is still exercising restraint when it comes to the above-mentioned personnel decisions, things are already being done in the youth sector. Salvatore Leotta will succeed former Juve professional Christian Zenoni as coach of the “Beretti” team next season. Leotta has been working in the youth sector for four years. New to the FCS, however, is the outgoing coach of upper division club Bozner FC Flavio Toccoli, who already wore white and red as a player, but is now supposed to boost talent development as coach of the A-youth team (national championship).

Promoting young talent across the country

The “Alperia Junior Camps”, which will be held next summer under the direction of Leotta, have played a central role in the area of youth work for years. 13 training camps are organized in South Tyrol for children and young people. It starts on June 26th in Bolzano. This is followed by the stations Ritten, Stegen, Nals, Sarnthein, Kastelruth, St. Pauls, Prad, Sterzing, Naturns, Passeiertal, Neumarkt and Milland. Meanwhile, five more stages are planned in Trentino. “Here we have the opportunity to support hundreds of young footballers in their development and at the same time look for talents who could later make it into the first team,” explained ex-professional goalie Reinhold Harrasser, who will look after the goalkeepers.
