FC Südtirol beat league leaders Cittadella

Coach Giovanni Stroppa was able to rely on all of the league leaders' players apart from the long-term injured Sarzi, and Kirilov, who was recently ill, also returned to the team. He formed the striker together with Tulli. Stroppa entrusted substitute keeper Miori with the space between the posts, and Bandini was allowed to play on the right wing from the start in place of Salurn's Fabian Tait.

Two completely different halves The game started with a cold shower for FC Südtirol: in the second minute, the home team took a 1-0 lead after the FCS defense tried too briefly to clear the score. For a long time, the White-Reds were unable to recover from the shock of being behind early on. It was only after almost half an hour that the FCS appeared dangerous in front of the goal with Tulli (27th), but all in all the hosts had the game well under control. Overall, there were only a few chances to score in the first half, so the score went into the locker room 1-0. The second 45 minutes were completely different: FC Südtirol looked for salvation in the offensive right from the start and were rewarded after just a few seconds with the 1-1 equalizer that Tulli secured. Just a few minutes later, Kirilov missed a great chance to take the lead (51'), which was then taken by Cia (55'), who slotted in after a pass from Girasole to make it 2-1. However, the hosts immediately responded to the deficit and equalized 2-2 just five minutes later after a corner. Afterwards the game became a little quieter and there were many signs pointing to a draw before FCS noble joker Gliozzi struck five minutes before the end and shot the white-reds to victory with a penalty.

While Cittadella remains at the top of the Lega Pro despite the defeat, FC Südtirol temporarily climbed to third place in the table thanks to their success and is therefore fully on course for the playoffs.

FC Südtirol beat league leaders Cittadella

FC Südtirol has returned ideally from the short Christmas break: The White-Reds defeated Lega Pro leaders Cittadella 17-3 on matchday 2, thereby impressively underlining their playoff ambitions. At the Tombolato Stadium in Cittadella, Tulli, Cia and Gliozzi scored the goals for the FCS.
