FC Südtirol is under a lot of pressure in Vicenza

Victory and defeat have been alternating at FC Südtirol for weeks, with promising performances usually followed by bitter disappointments. Two weeks ago in Alessandria, Kiem and Co. showed their best performance of the season, only to sneak off the field with their heads bowed seven days later after the bitter 1-2 defeat in the home game against Renate.

There is simply no continuity to be seen in the FCS. Coach Claudio Rastelli also recently brought this problem to Breduille. The pressure on him increases from matchday to matchday, and the fact that he has the extremely difficult task of forming a unit from a completely new team doesn't change. On Sunday we absolutely have to win a point against Real Vicenza in order to take the air out of the critics' sails and at the same time scare away the ghosts of crisis.

Branca has to watch

Rastelli will rebuild the squad in some positions after the disappointing performance against Renate - also out of necessity, as a key player, Simone Branca, is not available. The midfielder received his fourth yellow card last weekend and is suspended. Luca Bertoni, who has been sorely missed recently, could take his place next to Tait and Fink.

However, it is still unclear whether the recovered playmaker will have 90 minutes in his legs. Luca Mazzitelli and Davide Petermann are available as alternatives. In defense, Mladen, Kiem, Tagliani and Martin will again be preferred, while the cards will be reshuffled in offense. At the moment, only Manuel Fiwickeler seems to be placed there. Alessandro Campo, Manuel Marras, Michael Cia and Ivan Lendric are competing for the other two places.

Real Vicenza have been unbeaten for seven rounds

In this difficult phase of the season, FC Südtirol has to play against none other than top team Real Vicenza. The fusion club, which has only existed in its current form since 2010, pursues ambitious goals. They want to stand up to their “big brother”, Serie B club Vicenza Calcio, in the long term. The club officials have put together a team of promising talents and experienced veterans.

Salvatore Bruno stands out from the squad. The former first and second division player (including Chievo Verona, Napoli, Torino) is the team's top scorer with four goals. However, danger is also likely to come from the in-form midfielder Marco Cristini.

Real Vicenza currently has 17 points and leads the table together with Bassano and Como. Coach Michele Marcolini's team has now been unbeaten for seven rounds. In the Menti Stadium at home, she only gave up two points. A real test awaits the FCS on Sunday. Kick-off in Vicenza is at 16 p.m.
