FC Südtirol is sinking more and more into mediocrity

Coach Giovanni Stroppa had to do without the suspended Tagliani against the traditional club from Veneto. Debutant Gavazzi played for him from the start. In midfield, Fink returned to the starting line-up after serving a yellow card suspension. Since Fabian Tait from Salurn took a seat on the bench again, there was only one other South Tyrolean in the White-Red line-up alongside Fink, Michael Cia from Montana. The game began without much testing with a strong pressure phase from the FCS, who had their first opportunities early on with a sharp Crovetto cross and a Bandini crossbar. But Padova didn't hide either: Mazzocco took a shot in the penalty area, but missed clearly. In direct response, Fink had the chance to make it 1-0, but Rittner didn't hit the goal either. As a result, the game became increasingly flat, with the exception of a long-range shot from defender Mladen, little was achieved that could even remotely be described as dangerous. The guests almost took the lead out of nowhere: Altinier was positioned directly in front of the goal and quickly took a shot, but FCS keeper Coser was able to defend with his feet and saved the white-reds from falling behind at half-time.

Lots of ball losses, little worth mentioning Even after the break, the even encounter was not a game of great opportunities. Guest striker Pereira caused the first excitement of the second half, shooting just over the goal with a powerful shot. Afterwards there was a lot of midfield banter, but little worth seeing. Both teams neutralized each other and made life difficult for themselves with many unnecessary ball losses. Pereira on Padova's side (66th) and Bandini (70th) showed at least a hint of a goal threat, but their shots were far too few to score. Both teams seemed to be satisfied with the draw, and after 90 monotonous minutes the match ended with a fair division of points.

FC Südtirol is sinking more and more into mediocrity

Slowly but surely, FC Südtirol has to say goodbye to the playoff places: against its neighbors Padova, the FCS only managed a tired 0-0 draw. For the White-Reds, the draw was the fifth game in a row without full points, meaning the gap to the promotion places is getting bigger and bigger.
