The FCS goes into the Christmas holidays with a defeat

All six local players were in the squad at FC Südtirol. Tait, Kiem, Cia and Filehner played from the start, while Brugger and Fink initially sat on the substitutes' bench.

In the early stages both teams felt each other out. It wasn't until the 12th minute that the first highlight came when Crotti tried from the edge of the penalty area. But Melgrati was at his post. On the other side, Campo tried eight minutes later, but Ghislanzoni was on target.

Now the White-Reds pressed for the opening goal. Mazzitelli fired a volley and put Ghislanzoni in dire straits, but the home team's goalie was able to prevent anything worse from happening in the follow-up (22'). A long-range shot was also the next highlight, from Marotta after half an hour. But the leather went far past the case. An excitement, no, that wasn't what this match was in the first 30 minutes.

Rossini makes the decision

And things didn't get much better in the final phase of the first half of the game. With one exception: in the 43rd minute, Cia crossed into the middle, but a Lombard defender was able to scratch Firiegelr's header off the line.

After the break, the game also sputtered along. After 63 minutes the big bang came. Solerio made his way down the left wing, passed into the middle, where Perna passed it on to Rossini, who pushed the ball into the net for Giana Erminio to make it 1-0. There it was, the goal that might add some spice to this match.

And indeed, the match now became more lively. 120 seconds after the home team took the lead, Fiwickeler fed Cia, who, however, chased the ball over the crossbar from a promising position.

It was Cia's last action, who had to make way for Marras a little later. Chinellato Campos also took his place (69th). Sormani now increased the offensive, the equalizer was to come. Marras also caused danger seven minutes after coming on, but his shot was too central to get past Ghislanzoni. The FCS was slowly but surely running out of time. Because Giana Erminio knew how to make the spaces narrow, while the unimaginative White-Reds couldn't find a way to break the defensive barrier.

First defeat for Sormani

If so, then the chances were products of chance. Like three minutes before the end of regular time, when the ball came to Chinellato after a commotion, but he hit it over.

Four minutes were added, but Giana Erminio's narrow home win remained. After four wins and one draw, Alfredo Sormani had to leave the field as a loser for the first time since he took office as coach of FC Südtirol.

Premiere for Adolfo Sormani: In his sixth competitive game as coach of FC Südtirol, the trainer suffered his first defeat. The game against Giana Erminio on matchday 18 of the Lega Pro ended 0-1.
