In the first half of the season, the FCS suffered a bitter 1:3 away defeat in Bergamo. In the second match of the new year, the Rastelli troops can redeem themselves for their disgrace in front of their own audience. And the White-Reds are going into this match with a big heart. Kiem & Co. have been undefeated for four rounds. The last time they lost was on December 1st against Savona with 1:3. This was followed by a draw (0-0 against Pro Vercelli) and three wins (San Marino, Pro Patria and Reggiana).

“I want to compliment my boys. On Sunday in Reggio Emilia you showed that you had worked hard over the Christmas period. Against Reggiana I saw the same hungry team as the one that ended 2013. It was important to continue this positive series. But at the same time, after three wins in a row, we shouldn't allow ourselves to be tempted to take our foot off the accelerator. There is still a long way to go to reach the goal we have set, the playoffs,” says coach Claudio Rastelli.

Veratti initially only on the bench

No stone has been left unturned at the FCS in the past few weeks. With Alessandro Campo, Caleb Ekuban, Simone Iacoponi and Gianluca Rubin, South Tyrol's only professional club has given up four players in the past few weeks. The only new signing so far has been presented by the Cadornastrasse club, attacker Luca Veratti - but he will initially take a seat on the bench against AlbinoLeffe. Further obligations are not excluded. Negotiations are said to have progressed, especially with Radoslav Kirilov, attacker from Serie B club Carpil.

Coach Rastelli will have to do without the suspended goalkeeper Alessandro Micai against Albinoleffe. Enrico Tonozzi will replace him. Cappelletti, Kiem, Tagliani and Bassoli play in defense, while only Pederzoli has a regular place in midfield. Vassallo, Furlan and Branca are fighting for the two remaining places in the starting line-up. In attack, Rastelli continues to rely on wingers Corazza and Turchetta. The goals should be scored by the only striker Dell'Agnello, who has been successful 5 times so far.

AlbinoLeffe has lost the last two championship games and will therefore be motivated to play at FC Südtirol. On the club's own website, the club from Bergamo writes: “We have to watch out for their long passes and try to double the player in possession of the ball as quickly as possible. We are not necessarily in top form at the moment, but we trust in the technical and fighting skills of our players.” AlbinoLeffe has Massimiliano Pesenti, the top scorer in the 1st Division Lega Pro (Group A), in its ranks. The FCS defensive department will have to pay particular attention to him.

The match, which kicks off at 14.30 p.m. at the Drusus Stadium, will be presided over by referee Guccini from Albano Laziale, assisted by linesmen Pizzagalli (Pesaro) and Gori (Arezzo).
