The FCS wants to break the Pordenone taboo

After the win in Padua and the goalless draw against FeralpiSalò, FC Südtirol wants to make up further ground in the table with a “threesome” in Pordenone. The FCS is currently in sixth place with ten points. The Friulians have exactly the same number of points.

Giovanni Stroppa will again have to do without the injured Coser and Sarzi on Sunday. All other players are at his disposal.

An old acquaintance, Alex Pederzoli, plays at Pordenone. With FC Südtirol he narrowly missed promotion to Serie B in the 2013/14 season. Pederzoli played 27 matches in white and red and netted four times. The playmaker is also employed at Pordenone under coach Bruno Tedino. By the way, the trainer also has a South Tyrol past. He was on the sidelines at FCS in the 2003/04 season, finished third in the then Serie C2 and narrowly lost the playoff final against Cremonese.

In addition to Pederzoli and Tedino, the Pordenone management team recently brought other top people into the team. Goalkeeper Tomei (from Real Vicenza), defenders Marchi (Como) and Stefani (Messina), midfielder Pasa (Prato) as well as strikers De Cenco (Pontedera), Strizzolo (Lucchese), Finocchio (Pisa) and Cattaneo (Savona) are in the third league all top-class kickers. However, Pordenone was also forced to act because last year the green-blacks were relegated to Serie D, but were then accepted into the Lega Pro via “Ripescaggio”.

So far it has been FCS against Pordenone four times. Two of these games took place last year. The home team won here. The other two games counted for Group A of the Serie C2 Championship. In the 2003/04 season, the home team won 2-1. Noselli in the first leg and Zecchin with a brace in the second leg hit the mark.

The FCS wants to break the Pordenone taboo

FC Südtirol played the first of two difficult away games in a row on Sunday. The Stroppa team will be visiting the Bottecchia Stadium in Pordenone, where the white-reds have never managed a victory. The performance in Cuneo awaits next Saturday.
