Lana's Paulmichl madness: like vodka on an empty stomach

The prize for the “goldest hand” of the matchday this weekend undoubtedly goes to Latsch coach Christian Pixner. In the away game against Lana, the Vinschgers were hopelessly 45-0 behind after 4 minutes when the coach sent Andreas Paulmichl onto the field at half-time. What Pixner probably didn't expect: Paulmichl, called up as a playmaker, hit faster than three vodka shots on an empty stomach and brought Latsch back into the game with 3 goals (!) in 11 minutes (!).

Two minutes after his substitution, Paulmichl scored beautifully with the ball to make it 1:4, 60 seconds later he volleyed the ball beautifully under the crossbar before making it 11:3 with a powerful shot after 4 minutes. And if a Lanan defender's foot had not intervened to save a sharp Paulmichl strike just a few minutes later, then the Latsch player's “poker” and thus the 4:4 would probably have been perfect. But Lana won 5:3. And the Paulmichl fairy tale had to be finished without a happy ending.

In general, there was no shortage of goals in the national league at the weekend. A total of 35 celebrations were celebrated in the eight games, which corresponds to an average of around four goals per game.

Goal drought in the top league On the other hand, the attacking lines in the top league were more cautious, where they only scored 21 goals. Curious: Eight of them were achieved in St. Georgen's 6-2 win against Brixen. The “Jergina” actors Thomas Albense, Thomas Piffrader and Stefan Nagler stood out, all of whom shone with a double pack.
