Derby time in Brixen: Plose still has a score to settle

The Plose players have called for big revenge after they sneaked off the pitch after a bitter 1-4 defeat in the first leg. The duel on Friday (starts at 20 p.m.) on the artificial turf field “Klaus Seebacher Stadium” at the Brixen youth center is supposed to be completely different. Although Plose coach Matthias Regele repeatedly asserts: “The rivalry is low, both clubs have a good working relationship”, but a second disgrace against the local rivals should be avoided at all costs. The “little brother” from the village wants to do something to the large-scale city club - like last year in Brixen, when the SSV was in the lead 2-0, but Hansjörg Stockner and Co. won the game with three goals in the final phase still turned in their favor.

The current table situation provides additional explosiveness in the only classic city derby in the upper league: SSV Brixen is in eighth place with 30 points, closely followed by ASC Plose, who could overtake their rivals with a “three points” and decisively move away from the bottom of the table. For the Fuschini team, this may be the last opportunity to get closer to the top third of the table.

There are currently three South Tyrolean clubs in Ahrntal, Salurn and St. Martin in a promising position. The “Töldra” in particular are hoping for another slip-up from table leader Dro in order to move closer to the top with a win in Levico. Fourth-placed Salurn faces a real tough test in the home game against third-placed Comano Fiavè. St. Martin also welcomes a direct neighbor in the table, Mori Santo Stefano.

In the second purely South Tyrolean duel on matchday 24, Tramin and Naturns are fighting for important points in the relegation battle.
