Cologne is celebrating promotion

The Bundesliga returnees celebrated their premature comeback on Monday evening with beer and loud music, 373 days after crashing out of the elite class. This was preceded by a confident 4-0 win at Greuter Fürth.

Thanks to their 19th win of the season, 1. FC Köln secured their sixth Bundesliga promotion after 2000, 2003, 2005, 2008 and 2014 two rounds before the end of the season. They are even assured of first place in the table ahead of time.

Even on the pitch after the final whistle, the Cologne team put on their promoted T-shirts with the slogan “Widder do” (back again) and celebrated with their fans.
