DFL Digital Sports: Managing Director Heyden extends contract

Frankfurt/Main (SID) Andreas Heyden will remain managing director of DFL Digital Sports GmbH (DFL DS) for another five years. The supervisory board of the subsidiary of the German Football League (DFL) agreed on a contract extension with the 44-year-old until June 30, 2023. Heyden heads the Cologne-based company, which creates digital content, operates platforms and the international TV program created for the DFL since June 2015. “With his strategic approach, his technical expertise and great commitment, Andreas Heyden is helping to further develop and successfully implement the Bundesliga’s digital strategy in the national and international markets,” said Supervisory Board Chairman Peter Peters. DFL boss Christian Seifert made a similar statement: "DFL Digital Sports under the leadership of Andreas Heyden makes an important contribution to the innovation and competitiveness of the Bundesliga." Under Heyden, DFL Digital Sports has more than tripled the reach of its digital channels and pushed forward the development of innovative offerings. Among other things, DFL Digital Sports realizes the presence of the Bundesliga and the 2nd league in digital and social media in five languages. Around 60 permanent employees work in four departments.
