Three goals conceded & three reds: Virtus Bozen loses again

Virtus had to make do without several top performers against the seventh-placed team, as in addition to the long-term injured Kiem, goalkeeper Tenderini and striker Timpone were also unavailable. Nevertheless, Talferstädter found their way into the game better and took the lead with their first chance to score: After a corner from De Simone, the ball found its way to Kaptina, who scored from the turn to make it 1-0. However, Bolzano's lead didn't last long, as just five minutes later Basanini equalized to make it 1-1. Pontisola then took the scepter into his own hands and made it 2-1 through Capelli, who converted a cross from Pinto. Nothing changed in the score until the break - with the visitors narrowly ahead, the two teams said goodbye to the dressing rooms.

After the break, things went haywire in the Drusus Stadium: first Pontisolas Espinal was shown the red card (48th), before Bozen's Romeo was also sent to the shower early (65th). Instead of making it 2-2, Virtus continued to weaken itself and got the third traffic light card of the game with Majdi (80th). Being outnumbered, Hofer missed a good opportunity to bring the game back into balance, but was unsuccessful when attempting a shot at the far corner. Shortly before the end, goal scorer Kaptina, the third Virtus player, was sent off the pitch prematurely. Being twice outnumbered, the Lomi team conceded 1:3 - with the fourth goal of the afternoon the game finally came to an end.

After their 14th defeat of the season, Virtus Bozen remains in 14th place in the table, just one point away from a direct relegation zone.
