a Football

A tragic fate.

“You fought to the end, my love”

The football world is shocked by a tragic death: a football talent died at the age of 24, just a few weeks after his engagement.

Ben Cull was considered a promising talent in English football. He was trained at the traditional club Southampton, played for the junior national team at the age of 16 and was well on the way to a professional career. But then fate struck in a treacherous way and Cull fell ill with a rare form of cancer. The footballer fought against it for years, for years he fought back vehemently, for years he put all his strength into this fight. But now Cull has lost this battle and died at the age of just 24.

Particularly tragic: Just a month ago, Cull proposed to his girlfriend Dais Morrison. “This is the most beautiful moment of my life,” his fiancée wrote on social media at the time. But death put a tragic end to young love.

Touching lines

Girlfriend Dais is now touching the English football world with an Instagram posting. “The hardest goodbye. Yesterday I lost my entire life. My fiancé, my soulmate, my entire world... I always hoped and prayed that this day would never come. I’ve never felt pain like this.”

The friend continues: “You fought until your last breath, my darling. I know you did everything you could to stay, and despite all the suffering, you persevered. I will forever be grateful to you for that. You never gave up, but sometimes God has his own plans.”
