One derby, two goals: Naturns challenges St. Martin

For both teams it is much more than an ordinary league derby, because given the current table situation, both St. Martin and Naturns urgently need a point. The Yellow-Blues in particular are up to their necks, even though they haven't lost in three games in a row.

Engl Grünfelder is still undefeated as Naturns coach, but he is cautious: “The most recent results have shown that there is life in the team. But that doesn't mean anything, because you only keep the class with 34 or 35 points. There is still a long way to go until then. We want to win every game, including the one on Wednesday in St. Martin.”

Despite the draw against Levico, the point gap to the bottom of the table has continued to narrow. Naturns is still on the safe side, but a defeat in the Passeier Valley could already set off all the alarm bells. Felix Rungg and Co. can't hope for gifts from St. Martin. “Although our ambition is not to be at the top of the table,” explains St. Martin coach Stefan Gasser, “we will still do what we can to give points to any team in the relegation battle. Naturns has a strong team with a top attitude, I was able to see that for myself on Sunday against Levico. A lot of hard work awaits us.”

If they win a full point, the “Mortiner” could turn out to be a happy third in the top game between first-placed Dro and third-placed Albiano and at the same time continue to shake up the league as promoted teams.

Cellar duel between Obermais and Bozen 96

With Brixen-Ahrntal and Obermais-Bozen 96, three more purely South Tyrolean duels will take place on Wednesday evening. The game on the “Lahn” guarantees particular excitement, where both Obermais and Bozen 96 want to continue their upward trend and achieve an extremely important victory in the relegation battle.
