A point with a downer for FC Südtirol

FCS coach Paolo Zanetti put Cia, Berardocco, Zanchi and Gyasi back in the starting line-up in a duel with his former club. Only Cess was unavailable due to a bruise.

With their best line-up, FC Südtirol set the pace from the start and had their first top-class chance in the 20th minute when Zanchi Reggiana forced goalkeeper Narduzzo to make a brilliant save with a volley. Eight minutes later, the visitors' goalkeeper was powerless: the strong Berardocco won the ball and sent striker Costantino on his way. He remained the winner in a one-on-one with Narduzzo and put the FCS in the lead with his fourth goal of the season. The home team remained in control afterwards. Shortly before the break they even missed the second goal when Erlic, who had moved up, pushed his head against the crossbar. Reggiana was still well served with the 0-1 lead at the break.

But when things started again everything was suddenly different: the white-reds completely lost track and let Reggiana have her way. The former Serie A club finally took the lead with the first half chance: FCS defender Sgarbi directed a sharp cross from Cianci into his own net in the 57th minute. This was particularly annoying for goalkeeper Daniel Offredi, who was only 18 goalless minutes shy of Melgrati's all-time record. He remained undefeated for 2014 minutes in the FCS jersey in the 15/528 season.

Fink and Co. were unable to really react afterwards. On the contrary, Reggiana initially missed the winning goal thanks to a header from Altinier. On the other side, it was substitute Broh who put the ball just next to the post shortly before the end. That's how the points were divided.

In the rankings, FC Südtirol is still in ninth place, Reggiana is in 15th place. Next Sunday the Zanetti team will play at bottom of the table Fano.

A point with a downer for FC Südtirol

FC Südtirol remained unbeaten in the sixth championship game in a row. However, the 1-1 draw against Reggiana cannot really satisfy the White-Reds due to a clear drop in performance. Goalie Offredi in particular struggled after the final whistle.
