Eppan wins the Walter Franzelin memorial tournament

Six teams took part in the Walter Franzelin memorial tournament this year. The Traminer player was fatally struck by lightning exactly 50 years ago during a match between his hometown club. After the preliminary round games, Eppan and surprisingly Auer qualified for the final to win the tournament. Today the Überetscher lived up to their role as favorites and shot the Unterlandlers off the field with 4-0 goals. Maurizio Foldi, Stefan Clementi, Simone Tibolla and Shkelqim Leqiki scored the goals for the white-reds. Captain Christian Avancini also missed a penalty. In the game for third place, state league team St. Pauls beat the weakened Oberliga club Tramin 3-1. Paulsen's new acquisition Jonas Clementi put his team in the lead. After the equalizer by Daniel Pfitscher (top scorer of the tournament with three goals), Fabian Obrist and Alex Nussbaumer made it 3-1 for Stefan Gasser's team. 5th place ultimately went to Weinstraße Süd. The Margreider team prevailed against Neumarkt in the penalty shootout with 6:5 goals. After regular time it was a 1-1 draw.

Eppan wins the Walter Franzelin memorial tournament

Oberliga team Eppan won the Walter Franzelin memorial tournament in Tramin on Saturday evening. Massimo Nanni's team clearly defeated the 1st Amateur League club Auer in the final with 4-0 goals. Third place went to St. Pauls, who defeated host Tramin 3-1.
