Europeada: South Tyrol moves into the final - VIDEO

Hannes Kröss from Lusatia Coach Manfred Villgrater trusted the same players on Friday as he did on Thursday in the quarterfinals against the Occitanians. Pietersteiner was in goal, Fäckl, Althuber, Rellich and Harrasser formed the defense, Ritsch and Fischer played centrally in midfield, in front of them Hansi Mair, Pamer and Filehner formed the offensive midfield and Peter Mair was the only striker.

In the early stages of the game, the South Tyroleans had a hard time against the bravely fighting Croatians. The Southeast Europeans were dangerous with set pieces and tried long shots. The White and Reds had their first chance when Pamer missed after great work from Peer Mair (5th), but after that the Croatians should have taken the lead. Cuhac with the free kick, Pietersteiner couldn't hold on to the ball and a yellow-red attacker hit the ball over it.

After a quarter of an hour the game calmed down and South Tyrol got going better. At this point, Hansi Mair had a great chance, but his shot hit the post (16th). Seven minutes later the hoped-for goal celebration came. Danny Fäckl was ideally positioned and his right-footed shot rolled into the goal (23') - not deflected significantly by the goalkeeper.

After a little more than half an hour, the preliminary decision was made. Great through ball to Theo Pamer, who gave Vukovic the disadvantage with his “weak” right foot and scored to make it 2-0 (36th).

Three minutes before the end of the first half, Peter “Magic” Mair showed what a gifted footballer he is. Cross from Filehner, Mair took the ball with his right hand and his back to the goal, juggled the ball, turned and then followed up with a hard right-footed shot that Vukovic was only able to prevent from making it 3-0 with great difficulty.

The third goal followed in the second half. An hour had passed in Crostwitz when Fischnelller finally closed the bag. The Croatians couldn't get the ball out of the danger zone and “Fisch” hammered the ball unsustainably under the lower edge of the crossbar. But that wasn't enough: Armin Rungg also got on the scoresheet three minutes before the end of the game. 4-0 and the final was now perfect.

“Were not really concentrating”

“We struggled in the early stages today and made a few mistakes. We simply weren't focused enough, but that's understandable given four games in six days, because at some point the players get tired. After that we got a lot better, always had the match under control and are now in the final. “So we are now where we wanted to be,” said coach Manfred Villgrater after the game.

“Of course, anything is possible in the final, but if we have come this far, it would of course be great if we could win the title now,” said Armin Rungg, the scorer for the 4-0 win.

The final game for the title will take place on Saturday at 13.30 p.m. in the Bautzen stadium. The South Tyroleans' opponent is currently being determined.
