Conte's preferred candidate for “Squadra Azzurra”

On Tuesday, ex-national player Alessandro Costacurta, who was tasked with finding a new coach for the four-time world champion, declared the current team manager of English champions Chelsea FC to be the preferred candidate to permanently succeed Gian Piero Ventura, who was dismissed after the embarrassing knockout in World Cup qualifying.

“I haven't voted yet, but in my opinion Conte could do it best,” said Costacurta surprisingly frankly: “I will definitely talk to him in a few months.”
