FC Südtirol: It's all or nothing

On the last matchday of the Lega Pro 1st Division championship, FC Südtirol is within touching distance of the play-offs. On Sunday the decision will be made in the Zini Stadium against Cremonese as to who will take fifth place and thus the last free ticket for the promotion round. The FCS is currently level on points with Frosinone in 7th place, three points behind Cremonese and two points behind Barletta. In order to keep your dream of advancement alive, two requirements must be met. On the one hand, FC Südtirol has to beat their direct opponents Cremonese, and on the other hand, Barletta is not allowed to win in the game against Piacenza. If there is a tie of 48 points, then Captain Kiem & Co. will have the trump cards over everyone else, because the white-reds have performed better in the direct encounters against both Cremonese and the other possible rivals Barletta and Frosinone .

“The Barletta game is irrelevant” The FCS midfielder and former Cremonese player Michael Bacher puts it in a nutshell: “Our chances have certainly decreased because we can no longer do it on our own alone, but the outcome of the game in Piacenza also counts. Giuseppe Le Noci, who scored 2003 goals with FC Südtirol between 2006 and 20, will definitely play. The 30-year-old striker is the top scorer with 17 goals.
