FC Südtirol visits bottom team Fano

The FCS also relied on an extremely solid defense against Fano: In the last six games, keeper Daniel Offredi was only defeated once (by an unfortunate own goal from Sgarbi). The South Tyroleans were able to score six of the 17 points away from home, four of them in the last two away games alone (0-1 against Sambenedettese and 0-0 against Teramo). Fano, however, has only managed one win this season, with a 1-0 win in the first round in front of a home crowd. The game against Fano is extremely important for coach Paolo Zanetti's men as it is the last game before the non-playing round.

All players are available to FC Südtirol on Sunday. Only midfielder Serge Cess is not yet 100% fit, although he was able to take part in the training session on Thursday. Fano is contesting the Serie C championship for the second year in a row, having previously played amateur football for 25 years. Last season, the team from the Marche region was only able to save themselves with difficulty. In the championship they reached 17th place in the table. In the play out games, Fano won against Forli and thus stayed in Serie C. The current championship also started on the same track: 6 points in 12 games, bottom of the table and already 4 points behind Ravenna and Santarcangelo, who are in the penultimate position ahead of Fano. Last week there was a change of coach, Oscar Brevi replaced the unfortunate Agatino Cuttone.

The most famous players under contract with Fano are Andrea Lazzari (ex Cagliari, Atalanta, Udinese and Fiorentina) with 224 games in Serie A and 14 goals. Also important for Fano are the playmaker Antonio Filippini (12 appearances in Serie B and plenty of Serie C experience) and the striker Domenico Germinale (ex Padova, Alessandria, Spal and Albinoleffe in Serie B). Fano has not won in 11 games and has the second-worst attack in the league with 9 goals scored. The top scorer is Germinale with 4 goals.

In total, the two teams played against each other twice. Last season, the FCS won 2-0 in the “Drusus Stadium” and the second half of the season ended in a 0-0 draw.

FC Südtirol visits bottom team Fano
