FC Südtirol remains unbeaten at home – 4-2 win against Lumezzane

FC Südtirol got into the game well against Lumezzane and concentrated on the matter from the kick-off. Furlan hit the ball against the crossbar in the eighth minute, after which the visitors' defense cleared. Just 60 seconds later, Branca crossed a free kick to Cappelletti, who took the ball well, but Vigorito threw himself on the ball and was able to save.

In the 13th minute the hosts were rewarded for their attacking efforts. Iacoponi was fouled on the edge of the penalty area, Campo circled the free kick into the penalty area to Thiam, but Zamparo directed the ball into the goal without being able to stop: 1-0 for the FCS.

Six minutes later things got dicey in Marcone's penalty area. After a mistake by Cappelletti, the FCS goalie was able to excel after an Inglese shot. The next opportunity also belonged to the guests, but Inglese's shot on the move was once again no problem for Marcone.

After just over half an hour it was the hosts again: Campo curled a free kick into the penalty area, Bassoli rose highest, but his header hit the outside post. Immediately, Cappelletti made the next mistake, Inglese shot again and Marcone was once again at the post.

Campo dangerous with set pieces

In the 36th minute the FCS increased the lead to 2-0. Campo kicked one of his feared crosses, Possenti jumped into the ball and - similar to his teammate in the 1-0 win - directed it into his own goal. With this result we also went into the changing rooms.

After the break, Thiam made the difference in the 53rd minute when he put the ball in the goal after a Campo corner. It was the first goal for the FCS attacker in more than four months.

In the 70th minute, the guests scored again out of the blue. He gave Marcone the advantage with a shot on the move after breaking away well from Iacoponi. There was hope among the guests, who now put a lot of pressure on. However, the FCS repeatedly became extremely dangerous on counterattacks.

Eight minutes before the end, Testardi made the decision. After a Campo corner, the ball was deflected too short by the Lumezzane defense and the substitute attacker hit the ball into the net.

The guests set the final points of this entertaining game. In the 90th minute, Samb reduced the score to 4-2 before Kirilov hit the post again in stoppage time.
