FCS: A lot invested, little harvested - compensation in Salò

FC Südtirol started very powerfully in the Lino Turina Stadium in Salò. So Tulli tried a shot in the penalty area in the third minute, but Caglioni defused it. Just 180 seconds later, Gliozzi caused the Feralpi keeper more problems than he would have liked with a touchdown. In between, Tantardini could no longer get close to a long ball in the FCS penalty area.

As the game continued, the home side became stronger and stronger. After a quarter of an hour, Tortoli's diagonal shot rolled past the far corner. Six minutes later, Bracaletti did better, sinking a free kick from a half-left position into the near corner and putting the hosts in the lead.

FC Südtirol remains in control

After the cold shower, the white and red took the reins back into their hands. Caglioni first distinguished himself with a long-range shot from Crovetto (23'), before the goalkeeper had to use all his skills on another long-range shot - this time from Gliozzi - to keep Feralpisalò in the lead.

The visitors were unlucky in the 32nd minute when a Bandini cross deflected and hit the top of the crossbar. The FCS was clearly the better team in this phase and played a lot of the game. The home team then got back in touch, with Leonarduzzi, completely free-standing, heading past the FCS goal after a corner (36').

In the final phase, Bassoli first hit a free kick over it (38'), before Bandini tested Feralpisalò keeper Caglioni with another free kick (44'). It was the last excitement of a very pleasant and intense, but overall very fair first half.

Tulli equalizes

The second half began like the first half with chances for the FCS. First, Caglioni defused a Tulli shot at the near corner (47'), before Cia tried it, but shot at his teammate Gavazzi (53'). Otherwise this ball might have ended up in the goal.

In the 55th minute, Tulli's shot from the penalty area to the near corner failed, but seven minutes later the FCS attacker did better. After a corner, the liberating blow landed in front of the number “11”, who powerfully hit the ball into the net.

The guests also tried long shots afterwards, but Crovetto (65th), Cia (66th) and Tulli (70th) had no luck. There wasn't much to see from Feralpisalò in this phase, apart from a long-range shot from Settembrini (74th), which Coser brought under control.

But then it was the white and red again: First Fink's beam went past the left post (81'), a minute later Gliozzi made it 2-1 when he was wonderfully cleared in the penalty area, but didn't get enough of his shot behind his turn. The FCS striker also missed the last opportunity when he nodded a beautiful cross from Kirilov into the arms of the Feralpi goalie.

In the end, the FCS earned one point - but that's not enough for the effort put in and the many opportunities (especially in the second half). And with a view to participating in the playoffs, a three-pointer would have been needed on Monday evening. In the end, this counter will certainly help Feralpisalò more than the Stroppa protégés.
