Film about Toni Kroos will be released in cinemas in 2019

Cologne (SID) Soccer world champion Toni Kroos from Champions League winners Real Madrid leads a life without scandals. Now Germany's currently most successful footballer provides very personal insights into his private life, his job, his beginnings and his vita. The Cologne film production Broadview Pictures is making a 90-minute documentary about the world champion. The work will be released in cinemas in summer 2019. "It's no secret that in public I like to be a footballer first and foremost and of course I want to make my foundation known to help children and families," said the national player in an interview with the Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger: "Basically, my private life should will also remain private. Nevertheless, I was happy to accept the request for a cinema documentary because I see it as a great honor and confirmation." The filmmakers around Emmy award winner Leopold Hoesch have already produced several documentaries about, for example, Chancellor Angela Merkel ("The Unexpected"), the Klitschko brothers and the German basketball superstar Dirk Nowitzki (The Perfect Throw). Kroos is a huge fan of Nowitzki. The same applies vice versa. Kroos confessed that the film “enthralled” him. This gave him a good feeling about taking part in the project. As a result, he knew "that he could get involved with us with a clear conscience because he could expect a film about himself on the same level," Hoesch reported about the contact: "We spoke on the phone, got to know each other and gained a basis of trust."
