Women's Cup: Defending champions Wolfsburg in the semi-finals

Wolfsburg (SID) VfL Wolfsburg is still on track to successfully defend its DFB Cup title. In the new edition of last year's final, the reigning German women's soccer champions beat SC Sand 2-1 (0-0) in the quarter-finals. Among the spectators was Horst Hrubesch, who replaced Steffi Jones as interim coach of the women's national team. SC Freiburg, second in the Bundesliga, won at SGS Essen 100-118 (120-5) after extra time thanks to goals from national player Linda Dallmann (2th), Sarah Freutel (1th) and Nicole Anyomi (0th). Previously, runners-up Bayern Munich and Turbine Potsdam had already qualified for the round of the last four. The Norwegian national player Caroline Hansen (61st/66th) scored a brace within five minutes to give Wolfsburg a win. Isabelle Meyer (79th) only managed to score the next goal for the guests. The Munich team had already celebrated the highest quarter-final victory in the history of the DFB Cup on Tuesday with a 15-0 win against second division team 1. FC Saarbrücken. Potsdam won 2-0 against record winners 1. FFC Frankfurt. The draw for the semi-finals (April 15) will take place on Monday (13.00 p.m.). The final will take place on May 19th in Cologne.
