For FC Südtirol there is nothing to gain against the league leaders

Against the team coached by Filippo Inzaghi, FCS coach Alberto Colombo had to do without his regular goalkeeper Marcone (suspended) and defender Sarzi (injured). In the 3-5-1-1 system, the young goalkeeper Montaperto moved into the starting line-up, and Spagnoli also started in the attack instead of the top scorer Gliozzi.

In the first 20 minutes of the game, FC Südtirol were compact and gave Venezia little space for offensive actions. The visitors had their first really good opportunity in the 26th minute when Falzerano missed from a promising position. A short time later, the FCS also came dangerously close to the opposing goal for the first time, but after a cross from Tait, Spagnoli found his match in Venezia keeper Facchin. In the 31st minute, the leaders took the lead: Moreo played an ideal pass to Marsura, who scored the goal to make it 1-0. 120 seconds before the break, the guests increased their lead to 2-0 through Garofaro, who converted a free kick. With this score we went into the dressing rooms.

In the second half, Venezia limited itself to managing the result, while FC Südtirol did not really manage to put pressure on the visitors' goal. Alessandro Furlan had the greatest opportunity to score in the 64th minute, but he only hit the edge of the goal with a powerful shot. As a result, there were no further top-class players from the White-Reds. So after 90 minutes, Venezia remained 2-0, taking another step towards Serie B. FC Südtirol, on the other hand, remains in 13th place in the table, three points away from a playout place.

FC Südtirol suffered its third home defeat in a row on matchday 32 of the Lega Pro Championship. The White-Reds lost 0-2 against leaders Venezia in the Drusus Stadium.
