FC Südtirol has nothing to gain against Padova

At the FCS, Sarzi Puttini returned to the starting eleven after serving his suspension. Together with the two central defenders Di Nunzio and Bassoli and Fabian Tait, he formed the back four, while Fink, Furlan and Obodo pulled the strings in midfield. In the attack, center forward Gliozzi was flanked by Cia and Tulli.

Padova took the reins from the start and fired the first warning shot through ex-FCS player Cappelletti. The Venetians continued to have the more concrete chances to score, but Mazzocco's aim was too imprecise after Tait's defense was too short (30'). Only a little later, Emerson did better when he curled a free kick from the edge of the penalty area into the net (33'). There wasn't much to be seen from the FCS offensively, Obodo had the only significant opportunities with two long shots that were too weak.

Even after the break, the FCS had a hard time going forward, while Padova pressed for the second goal and scored it in the 62nd minute: Emerson placed a corner cross right on Altinier's head and he had little trouble putting the ball into the net to steer. So the decision was made - also because Spagnoli was unlucky with a shot against the post ten minutes before the end.
