For FC Südtirol, only victory counts in Bergamo

Adolfo Sormani's team, currently in eighth place in the table, celebrated their last victory on February 7th. At that time, the Talferstadt team beat Cremonese 3-1 at home. Since then, however, the FCS has suffered four defeats (against Pro Patria, Alessandria, Renate and Feralpisalò) and shared points twice (with Novara and Real Vicenza). On Saturday, the White-Reds want to get back on the road to success against Albinoleffe in order to get the final championship phase off to a good start.

For Albinoleffe, the championship hasn't gone as planned recently either. The club from Bergamo has not won in seven games. The FCS's Sunday opponent celebrated their last win on February 1st (2-1 against Como). The clash at the “Atleti Azzurri d'Italia” stadium will be a very special game for two players. Firstly for Michael Cia, who played for Albinoleffe between 2009 and 2011, and secondly for Davide Pacifico, who moved from FC Südtirol to Bergamo during the last transfer window.

Coach Sormani will have to do without the long-term injured Furlan and Fink on Saturday. There is also a question mark behind the ailing Branca. If Branca doesn't get fit in time, Cia could be used, while Kiem and Tagliani fight for the starting place in defense.

The first leg ended in a 1-1 draw, with Fiwickeler and Momentè getting on the scoresheet. FC Südtirol and Albinoleffe met a total of five times and the balance is balanced. Both teams celebrated one win each and drew three times.

The match in Bergamo is the first of two away games in a row for FC Südtirol. Next week the FCS has to play in Lumezzane. Fischnitzer and Co. won't play in the Drusus Stadium again until April 2nd, when Torres is a guest in Bolzano.
