For “Jergina” all bad things come in threes

The false start to the second Serie D season at St. Georgen is perfect. On the third matchday there was the third defeat for the traditional Pusterer club. The Pusterers weren't necessarily the weaker team against Sant'Angelo, but individual mistakes and a lack of hardiness were punished in the end.

After a boring first half in which there were no chances to score on either side, the home team took the lead in the 53rd minute. The “Jergina” carelessly lost the ball in midfield, Rigatti moved away on the right side, shot from a tight angle, Pietersteiner could only let the ball pass and Marchesetti pushed in to make it 1-0.

Just 180 seconds later, the mood barometer in St. Georgen rose noticeably again. Ziviani beat Zaccani with a remarkable shot from the edge of the penalty area into the far corner - the score was 1-1.

But St. Georgen's joy didn't last too long, as Marchesetti scored the 65-2 winning goal in the 1th minute with a shot into the far corner. The goal was preceded by a foul on a guest player, which the referee did not punish. St. Georgen then tried to score an equalizer, but nothing countable came of it. Also because from the 75th minute onwards, after Ziviani's yellow-red card, St. Georgen only continued to play with ten men.

On Sunday, Darfo Boario will be a guest at ASC St. Georgen - for Harrasser and Co. the chance to repair the gap and get back to winning ways after three defeats en suite. Then Thomas Veronese, who was suspended on Wednesday, will be back in the game, while Peter Mair will have to go to the stands twice more.

Serie D is three game days old as of Wednesday afternoon. And there have been just as many defeats for ASC St. Georgen so far. This time Morini's troops lost to Sant'Angelo with 2-1 goals. And again a player had to leave the field early, this time it was Ziviani.
