Football greed causes excitement

You'll quickly add up to a nice sum and you won't be safe from surprises, because the broadcasting rights are distributed very differently in each country. At least you get through the week pretty well. And then normal league operations resume on Friday until Sunday.

Infantino can rely on his desert friends. A lot of criticism of a World Cup every two years Football fans probably won't be there any more soon, because one thing is clear: at some point, too much is just way too much. And the wind that blows against him because of his outrageous idea is fortunately becoming increasingly harsh, with those who are causing the storm of indignation themselves being among the greedy of this world. The President of the European Football Association (UEFA), Aleksander Ceferin from Slovenia, is strictly against the plans of his colleague from the world association and is also playing with stacked cards. His association is constantly inflating all the competitions under his direction in order to generate even more income He has even threatened a boycott of the 55 European associations if the two-year rhythm is introduced. This is of course a loud rumble far removed from reality, because if just one national association were to fall over, there would inevitably be a domino effect.

Many clubs are also following the current battle of the greedy with dismay. Because the big clubs in particular then have to lay off the staff they pay for more and more games with the constant fear that one of them will come back injured because the stress limits have been exceeded. The few lump sums you get for sending the national team players away never outweigh the risk. But how would it be if Gianni Infantino, before he actually puts his idea into practice, which he, the clever tactician and orchestrator, can certainly do, if he asked us, the consumers and football fans. Do we really want this? A world championship every two years with group games that hardly offer any moments of tension because only a few teams actually have a world championship level. Boredom is programmed. We recently saw this at the European Championships, which only became exciting with the end of the group games and the start of the round of 16.

The argument that other sports such as biathlon, figure skating, canoeing and many more even determine their world champions every year, sometimes even during the Olympic years, is untenable, because these sports only exist for a limited period of time and not like football all year round through the club's games. We somehow want to be greedy too. The Sunday roast has its name right. It's only available on Sundays. If it existed every day it wouldn't be anything special anymore. A World Cup every two years would be like a daily Sunday roast. Everyday food that we don’t want.
